Contributing factors (economic downturn, longer productivity, raising grandchildren, etc.) have resulted in people staying in the workforce longer, delaying retirement. Many workplaces are now composed of FIVE GENERATIONS! That is the “good news” (retention of corporate expertise and experience) and the “bad news” (deeply held differing values, perspectives, and priorities). It is important to recognize and celebrate the unique backgrounds and perspectives that each generation brings, as well as understand and manage the differences that proactively occur between different generations to minimize misunderstandings and potential conflict. This workshop will present the strengths and potential limitations of Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y (Millennials), and Generation Z to maximize collaboration, retention, and collegiality across a diverse staff. This is an update to a previously presented training.
